Clean water? There’s an app for that…of course

Americans may occasionally complain about the the taste of their tap water, but generally our domestic water supply is very safe. That’s not the case for much of the rest of the world, especially in far-flung locals that are just beginning to develop. Avoiding contaminated water is a must for travelers who want to stay healthy, and now it’s easier than ever to determine the safety of the local water supply with an app called Water Advisor.

The free iOS app was developed by Vitens, which is one of the largest water companies in the Netherlands. They pride themselves on constant investment in sustainability and innovation. This app will not only tell you of the safety of the water where you are, but it will also suggest ways to make the tap water drinkable.

Now you just have to make sure that your iPhone works in whatever godforsaken place you find yourself.
